Arsenal and Liverpool put on red alert as transfer target put up for sale

Ligue 1 club Lyon will spark a summer transfer battle after putting Alexandre Lacazette up for sale.

Arsenal and Liverpool are just two of the clubs interested in signing the 25-year-old French striker.

The striker has recently expressed that he is keen to leave the French club this summer, something that has angered Lyon fans, and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed he is free to leave.

Aulas said:

“We have one player who has our permission to leave, and that is Alexandre Lacazette.

“But that does not mean that he will definitely leave. If the club that he wants to join meets our asking price then he can go.

“If our players think that Lyon is not big enough for them, we will open the door for them to go. We’ll then sign players who are equally good, but who have the right attitude as well.

“We plan to once again become one of the top ten clubs in Europe.”

It is believed that Lyon have set the asking price for Lacazette at £50million, something both Liverpool and Arsenal should be able to afford. Whether they are willing to pay it remains to be seen.

Atletico Madrid are the favourites for the strikers signature, and he could replace Antoine Griezmann who has been heavily linked to Manchester United this summer.
